Anthony Antonellis is a visual artist who is known primarily for his work online, but his practice is not limited to virtual space. His process copy-pastes between analog and digital states, exploring the simultaneity of real and virtual objects.
Antonellis studied at Savannah College of Art and Design, BFA in painting, and Bauhaus-University Weimar, MFA in new artistic strategies.
About the work: "I bought a CD on eBay advertised to contain over 30,000 public domain animated gifs. Costing £5 after shipping, it was my largest gif purchase to date. Public Domain is a salon-style exhibition of these gifs. With each refresh, a framed selection of 300 random images is pulled from the archive".
