Consumer inkjet printer and inkjet prints
installation dimensions variable
Document is a technological endurance art installation where a block ASCII PDF, over 600 color pages in length, is sent to a consumer model inkjet printer. Freshly loaded ink cartridges produce page after page until the ink wells are depleted. The performance is illuminated by tapestry sized excerpts on the surrounding walls.
The installation is transmitted by hybrid mail; where the artwork, sent digitally, is received by the gallery as a template for implementation. Likewise, any user can download the file and produce the installation locally.
A4 paper versus A4 car: should digital be kept digital? When performed, Document is an expensive commodity. With a cost averaging €3800/Liter, consumer inkjet ink is one of the most valuable substances in the world. 8 liters worth of cartidge ink costs the same as 2012 Audi A4.
Document has been performed during Flat at Info-Punkt, Leipzig, and during CTRL-C/CTRL-V at Steambox, Dublin.
An Arial font, 450 page edition is included in the 1MB ZIP show on FA-G.org

CMYRGB is a series of 24 gradient color combinations which exist simultaneously as digital files and physical objects. The digital versions are looping 3 second GIF animations, while the physical counterparts are lenticular prints suspended in Lucite enclosures. The gradient palette is based on the subtractive and additive color systems cyan-magenta-yellow and red-green-blue.
The complete series will be on view in London at the exhibition Responsive Eyes at Jacob's Island Gallery, 15 March - 15 May 2012.
#DFFF00: Skaters

I began a new project #DFFF00 as part of an ongoing series of work involving the destruction of the perfect square. In this process the destruction of an object is necessary for its completion; the ultimate purpose is to end, to have attained a purpose.
1000 highly adhesive neon stickers were produced. The neon yellow, hex code #DFFF00, carried over the visual language from earlier experiments in the series.
Visiting skate spots around Paris and the Bétonsalon, I placed the neon square stickers onto skateboards. The squares were perfect surfaces screaming to be marked, scratched or otherwise made imperfect while skateboarding. The stickers are destroyed as they become reabsorbed into their surroundings, approaching décollage.
